Penguin,

I have noticed you have been fishing for calamari quite a bit lately! Well done on your success. It may not get the adrenaline pumping like a kingy but I too cerainly would not pass up a nice relaxing session on some calamari.

Well done!

Andrew

Nice squids!!!

Can I ask a stupid question? How do you detach the squid from the jig once they are caught?

I got the day off work tomorrow. Might give squid jigging a go. Only started fishing a few months ago and absolutely loving it!

mate just pick up the jig, dangle the squid over a bucket and turn the jig upside down and it should drop straight in there

btw ..... blue jigs ROCK!

Great haul there penguin!

I imagine the squid get nervious whenever you go near the Bay!

Great to eat and top bait too! You win either way.

I've gotta give it a go some time.

Cheers

nice work penguin - a fan of the blue jigs hey?? i've never done any good with that colour.

i think i know where you were, top spot!

Chris

I have never used that colour b4 today but when the Natural and Orange jigs stopped catching,

I pulled out the blue jig and I was on again 1st and 2nd casts. Now Im a fan.

nice little honey hole you have there. well done.

do you eat the smaller ones? if so, how do you cook them up. i find if i batter them up as calamari rings the flesh gets a bit lost in all the batter.

I froze the smaller ones for bait.

Bread crumbed calamari and salad 2day.

Fantastic haul, absolutely love catching squid.

Well done.

By the way I would normally freeze the bigguns and eat the smaller ones, I find the smaller ones are more tender than the bigger ones.

Great haul there. Any chance of a hint of the general area they were caught. Have never squidded before and am looking to give it a go in the next few weeks but not sure where to go for them.
